DOLE recognize outstanding PESOs of Central Luzon

Subic Bay Freeport Zone – Public Employment Services Office (PESO) officials and Job Placement Officers (JPO) were lauded at the recently held 2018 Year-End Planning Assessment (YEPA) and 2019 Planning Exercises cum Capacity Development Program for PESO Managers Project Development & Management on March 19 to 22 at the Subic Bay Travellers Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Some 160 PESO managers attended the said event together with the Department of Labor and Employment(DOLE) Provincial heads and staff. 

In her message, DOLE Regional Director Zen Angara-Campita emphasized the need of the PESO managers in committing to these: (1) due diligence of the monthly reporting of accomplishments (2) identify potential projects especially group projects and (3) sustain the existing operations/projects in their respective area.

Campita being a National Program PESO Manager during her stint at the Bureau of Labor and Employment (BLE) furthered the need to make clear on all PESO engagements, continue and strengthen partnership with career guidance advocates and likewise stated that PESO Managers are not just employment seekers “you are the bridge for employment, make your presence felt as employment facilitators” she added.     

The event not only gave recognition to PESO Managers but also provided a venue for training workshop on Entrepreneurship and Training of  Trainors. Meanwhile, DOLE Technical Support Services Division for Employment and Welfare head Alex Inza Cruz, Director II  led the capacity building  and framework discussions on the national contributions of PESO accomplishments. Inza -Cruz focused on the indicative targets during his discussion.

Through the Job Search Assistance a total of 221,247 qualified jobseekers was referred for placement and the advocacy on Labor Market Information (LMI) was able to reach 290,938 individuals 124% from the target, all made possible through the PESOs,  Inza- Cruz added.

The 2018 Regional Best PESO awardees are as follows: 1st-2nd class Municipality, 1st place is Lubao, Pampanga, 2nd   place is Talavera, Nueva Ecija and 3rd place is Guiguinto, Bulacan.

For the Component City bagging the 1st place is Mabalacat City, Pampanga, 2nd place is Tarlac City, Tarlac while 3rd place is Malolos City, Bulacan. While for the Non LGU Based was awarded to Bulacan State University.

Awards were also given to best performer PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) wherein for the first class province, award was given to Mr. Melchor Cui of  Bataan Provincial PESO, 2nd place winner is Nida Duco of Tarlac Provincial PESO and 3rd Place to Elizabeth Alonzo of Bulacan Provincial PESO. For the 2nd-3rd class province was given to Virgilia P. Gomez of Aurora Provincial PESO. The component city awardees are 1st place is Dominador Sayre of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, Arnold Samson of Tarlac City, Tarlac and Bernard Delos Reyes of Mabalacat City, Pampanga. For the highly urbanized city, the award was given to  Maria Rosa Teodora Basilio of Angeles City,Pampanga.

The PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) is the enhanced version of the Skills Registry System which includes the database of active manpower supply containing the profiles of all persons and employers registered under the National Skills Registration Program (NSRP). It shows information on the qualifications and skills of the applicants as well as the job vacancies posted by the employers and is maintained and updated by all participating PESO’s nationwide.
