50 ZambaleƱas receive DOLE Livelihood Grants


San Felipe, Zambales /May 7, 2019 – A total of 50 members of the Samahang Zambaleña San Felipe, Inc. received raw materials for their proposed start-up/ enhancement livelihood project from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 3 and the Local Government Unit of San Felipe.

DOLE Zambales Chief Reynante Lugtu led the ceremonial turn-over together with Municipal Mayor Atty. Carolyn Farinas. Lugtu said that the assistance is part of the  DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILEEP).

The identified beneficiaries who are among the 6,000 members of the Samahan a home-based workers, farmers and fisher folks, organization were given additional capital funding amounting to Php600,000.00 to be utilized for the enhancement and development of their respective businesses which include food making/manufacturing such as yema, pastillas, bread, bagoong, fruit juice, leche-plan, barbeque, lugaw, salted egg, chili oil, fried peanut.There were also beneficiaries who ventured into rubber slippers, rag, water lily slippers and printed t-shirt making.

This project is in line with the objective of the LGU thru its Planning and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) to enhance and develop business and make these members to become self- reliant, productive and responsible residents of the community.

In addition to the assistance provided, services and intervention will also be provided by the Department in the form of social preparation, training cum production, and Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDT)./DOLERO3
