As of April 13, DOLE 3 has already provided cash aid to more than 46k private sector workers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, April 13 – Some 46,368 formal sector workers were provided with P5,000 cash assistance as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) continues implementation of COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP).

According to Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita, DOLE 3 released another P68.725 million to additional 13,745 employees bringing the total worker-beneficiaries given assistance to 46,368 workers. “Now on our fourth week of processing and evaluation of submitted applications, DOLE Central Luzon has already released a total of P231.84 million covering more than 46,000 employees,” Angara-Campita said.

In total, 2,079 establishments in Region 3 have been covered by CAMP. 83 approved establishments (891 workers) were from Aurora. 212 establishments (5,881 workers) were from Bataan. 417 establishments (12,353 workers) were from Bulacan. 254 establishments (3,658 workers) were from Nueva Ecija. 651 establishments (15,666 workers) were from Pampanga including Clark. 226 establishments (2,941 workers) were from Tarlac while 236 establishments (4,978 workers) were from Zambales. 

“We understand the needs and sentiments of everyone affected, most especially the daily-wage earners. On our end, we are fast-tracking the processing of CAMP the best way we can, and majority of our employees have already been utilized for this purpose,” Angara-Campita noted. 

Meanwhile, DOLE’s evaluation of applications for the P5,000 cash assistance is ongoing for the rest of the month.
