Additional guidelines set for application of AEPs for POGO workers

City of San Fernando, PAMPANGA, May 20, 2020 - The Department  of Labor and Employment now requires a copy of recent PAGCOR authorization to operate as proof that the POGO establishment is authorized to resume operations amid the implemented modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) and general community quarantine (GCQ).

According to Labor Advisory No. 19-2020, all applicants of Alien Employment Permit (AEP) from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and related establishments must present the mentioned document from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation. That is in addition to the requirements set by Department Order No. 186, series of 2017.

Meanwhile, regional offices may issue their internal guidelines for the mode of accepting applications and releasing of AEP cards. The use of courier services for the release of AEP cards is also highly encouraged at the expense of the applicants or their employers.

AEP is one of the requirements in the issuance of a work visa to a foreign national and thus be able to legally engage in gainful employment in the country.
