Clark, PAMPANGA, September 14, 2020 - Retrenched BPO manager finally received his final pay amounting to almost half a million pesos through the Department of Labor and Employment's (DOLE) Single Entry Approach mechanism or SEnA.

Citing a report of DOLE Clark Satellite Office, Regional Director Ma. Zenaida A. Angara-Campita said that the complaint for non-payment of last pay of a former manager of a BPO company in Clark was settled in just a day. “Normally, through SEnA, which is what we call a speedy, accessible, and inexpensive settlement procedure, the two parties meet in person for the settlement of the labor dispute. But because we are in these extraordinary times, our office devised a way to still be able to assist the complainants,” Campita mentioned. “Whenever possible, we arrange conferences through the use of our online platforms just like this one,” she added.

“Michael” was displaced in June due to the redundancy of his position. According to him, his former company already breached the standard of 30 days to release his last pay, so he decided to reach out to DOLE.

DOLE Clark immediately took action to his request and hastened settlement through SEnA Desk Officer, Jerwin Bargas, and DOLE Clark head Jose Roberto Navata.

Meanwhile, Michael expresses his gratitude to DOLE Clark for their swift action to his request. “It is good support. Whenever they call, things get moving,” he said in an interview.

Based on Labor Advisory No. 6, s. 2020, employers are mandated to release the final pay of an employee within 30 days from the date of separation or termination of employment.

Moreover, as per recently issued Department Order No. 214, s. 2020, the interruption of the prescriptive periods for the commencement of actions, claims, petitions, complaints, processes, and other proceedings is lifted, except in areas under ECQ, MECQ or hard/total lockdown. With the issued department order, conferences and other proceedings shall be conducted through the use of digital platforms, if available to all parties.
