DOLE, RTWPB declare regional winners for 2021 Productivity Olympics


City of San Fernando, PAMPANGA, July 27, 2021 - A total of nine micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were awarded as Central Luzon winners in the 2021 Regional Productivity Olympics on 27 July 2021 at The Orchid Gardens, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.    


DOLE Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio, also the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) Central Luzon chairperson, acknowledged and recognized all winners and nominees of the aforementioned contest. “Your mere presence here shows that you are our partners in promoting and generating employment and in the engagement of our dear workers particularly the micro, small, and medium scale enterprises. This only goes to show that no matter how daunting these times are, and whatever is thrown at us, we are able to emerge victorious,” RD Panlilio said in her welcoming message.


One of the awardees is Evelyn Grace, proprietor of Green Thumb Agri Products. In her acceptance message, she expressed her gratitude to the government, particularly to the RTWPB. “Yung mga tao namin kumikita ng higit isang libo isang araw. Until now, ang nais po namin ay makatulong sa maliliit naming magsasaka at miyembro ng komunidad na sana kahit pandemic po, hindi po sila nagugutom,” she mentioned.


Among the regional awardees under the agribusiness sector are Min’s Miraculous Mushroom (Bulacan), Green Thumb Agri Products (Zambales), GrainPro Phils. Inc. (Zambales). On the other hand, for the service sector, the winning MSMEs are Ala Carte Restaurant and Food-to-Go (Bataan), Boba Time Food Corner (Zambales), Toyota Plaridel (Bulacan), Bleue R Enterprises (Aurora), Sto. Nino De Parada Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Bulacan), and Don Bosco Technical Institute of Tarlac (Tarlac). 

Rallying behind its theme “Bounce Back Better” for 2021, the productivity olympics is a biennial competition of best productivity improvement practices of MSMEs organized by the National Wages and Productivity Commission and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards across the country. In Central Luzon, winners were determined by the regional screening committee composed of DOLE Regional Director Panlilio as Chairperson, DTI Regional Director Leonila Baluyot, NEDA Regional Director Gina Gacusan, Mr. Edgar Ventura and Mr. Raul Remodo representing the labor sector, and Ms. Flordeliza Maria Reyes-Rayel and Mr. Marco Nepomuceno representing the employer sector. Ms. Eufemia Ayro, president of Central Luzon Association of Labor Management Cooperation Practitioners, was also invited and became part of the screening committee for this year. 

Regional winners received Php10,000 cash each and priority endorsement to DTI and DOLE training programs.
