Central Luzon provinces, municipality, and city win PESO Awards


 

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, September 24, 2021 - Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) from Region 3 bagged three out of eight awards during the virtual celebration of the 21st National PESO Congress held last week. 

 

According to DOLE-III OIC Assistant Regional Director Alex Inza Cruz, the region submitted six entries and three won in their respective categories. “In 2019, we had 4 winners out of six entries. This time, another 3 PESOs emerged victorious among other regions for their untiring work and dedication to serve,” OIC-ARD Cruz mentioned.

 

PESO Aurora bested all other nominees in the 3rd to 5th class province category while PESO Llanera in Nueva Ecija (3rd to 4th class municipality) and PESO San Jose Del Monte Bulacan (Component and Independent Component City) were triple-tie winners in each category. 

 

Meanwhile, Pampanga Provincial PESO was chosen and awarded as Choice of the Press together with its runners-up Lucena City PESO, Oriental Mindoro PESO (tie in 2nd place), and PESO Isabela City PESO (3rd place).

 

Another winner for Central Luzon is PESO Tarlac which was hailed in the Hall of Fame for being the Best PESO in the 1st class province category for three consecutive years. Although postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, the winners of the 2020 Search for Best PESO were recognized during the 2021 National PESO Congress.


DOLE-III Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio also accepted the symbol of responsibility as next host of the annual national PESO Congress. “We are happy and privileged to accept the hosting of the 2022 PESO Congress. We are hoping and praying that we will be able to host a face-to-face PESO Congress because together, we believe that we will be able to emerge victorious over this pandemic and are already in an uphill climb towards economic recovery and development in the year 2022,” said RD Panlilio. 

 

In an interview, RD Panlilio also acknowledged and thanked PESOs in Region 3 as “life-long” partners of the DOLE in the implementation of its livelihood and employment programs. 

 

The 2020 Secretary’s Bayanihan Awards recognizes the exemplary delivery of job facilitation services of PESOs nationwide. ###
