DOLE delivers P3.5M TUPAD wages, assistance in Tarlac

Tarlac City, TARLAC, January 12, 2022 - Some 840 Tarlaqueños received their salaries today under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III led the distribution of wages amounting to a total of P3.528 million. The beneficiaries who each worked for 10 days received P420 per day or P4,200 in total.

DOLE Tarlac head Aurita Laxamana said that the 840 worker-beneficiaries were mostly farmers, vendors, and tricycle drivers from Tarlac City and the municipalities of Gerona, Victoria, and San Jose. “Those who are hardly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic remain our priority beneficiaries. Masaya po kaming makita na kahit papano, nagiging bahagi kami ng kanilang pagtawid sa araw-araw,” Laxamana said. [We are glad to know that we are somehow part of how they live through every day.]

The payout of the said beneficiaries was held at Bulwagan Kanlahi, Diwa ng Tarlac, San Vicente, Tarlac City on January 12, 2022. Tarlac 2nd District Board Members, Gerona Mayor Eloy Eclar, and Victoria Vice Mayor Rex Villa Agustin also attended the said activity.
