November 11, 2022, Candaba, PAMPANGA – Some 2,026 Candabaueños received their wages through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged at Displaced Workers (TUPAD) during the payout held on 10 November 2022.
DOLE Pampanga Head Arlene N. Tolentino, together with Pampanga 4th District Board Member Pol Balingit and Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque, led the distribution of wages amounting to Php9.117 million. All the beneficiaries received Php4,500 each for the 10-day community clean up and clearing operations they rendered. Farmers, fisherfolk, vendors, laborers, and other underemployed workers were selected as beneficiaries.
Crispin Villamar, a 44-year-old farmer from Pescadores, Candaba is one of the beneficiaries. “Malaking tulong po sa amin ang nakuha naming Php4,500. Mayroon na kaming pangdagdag sa pambili ng pagkain at pambili ng gamit para sa mga bata,” Villamar said, sharing that he has three children currently studying.
“DOLE Pampanga is looking forward to reaching more beneficiaries deserving of the TUPAD assistance in District 4 and in the province. We still have remaining allocation pending for implementation within the year,” Tolentino shared.
It can be recalled that Pampanga, including the town of Candaba, was swept by Typhoon Karding in the latter part of September.
The payout was held at Brgy. Mandasig, Candaba. Councilor Nelson Alonzo and PESO Manager Agnes Tarrobal also attended the activity.
